Premium Liquid Wax

Its traditional formulation, based on beeswax (15% of all waxes) and turpentine (50% of all solvents), makes Louis XIII liquid wax an exceptional product that leaves behind the authentic scent of waxes from the past. Drawing on the experience of cabinetmakers and antique dealers, we have chosen to incorporate the maximum possible amount of turpentine into our composition without clogging or darkening even the most precious woods, a phenomenon that occurs when the proportion of turpentine relative to the solvents becomes too high. The same applies to the beeswax: a 25% content is the maximum proportion of nourishing waxes that the wood can absorb. Beyond that, the wax accumulates on the surface and becomes sticky. Added to these elements are a cleaning solvent, which allows the wood to be cleaned while being waxed, as well as mineral waxes whose role is to enhance the natural shine of the beeswax and protect the wood against dirt and stains.

Louis XIII luxury liquid wax is available in different shades adapted to various wood species. Slightly recoloring, it helps to mask small imperfections in the wood and surface defects.

Preparation:Ensure the wood is clean, dry, and dust-free. For new or stripped parquet, apply Louis XIII Acrylic Base Coat first.

Application:

By hand:Spread the wax with a soft cloth or cotton waste.

With a brush:Ideal for moldings and hard-to-reach areas.

With a floor polisher:Recommended for large surfaces like parquet floors.

Drying:Allow to dry for a few minutes.

Buffing:Buff with a clean cloth or a suitable brush to reveal the natural shine provided by the carnauba.

Coverage:For routine maintenance, expect 20 to 30 m² per liter depending on the porosity of the wood.

If your wood is very dirty or grimy, we recommend cleaning it beforehand with Louis XIII Wax Remover (500 ml, code 3114 – 1000 ml, code 3116). Given the high wax concentration of this formula, we recommend using the product at a temperature of at least 18°C to facilitate application. If necessary, particularly in winter, you may slightly warm the product by placing it near a gentle heat source, excluding any open flame.
