How to achieve a successful finish with Louis XIII Colorecir?

1. Preparation: Shake the container vigorously to distribute the pigments and wax thoroughly.
2. Coloring: Apply an even first coat using a flat, soft-bristled brush.
3. Drying & Intensity: Wait 6 hours, then repeat the process to deepen the shade and protection.
4. Revelation: After complete drying (between 6 and 24 hours), rub vigorously with a hard brush or a coconut fiber mat to activate the wax.
5. Buffing: Finish by buffing with a soft cloth to reveal the full radiance of your wood.

Surface preparation for a flawless finish:

The wood must be raw, clean, and dry. Always rinse, sand finely, and dust after treatment.

• Waxed wood: Wax remover + No. 2 steel wool, then Cabinetmaking Stripper.
• Varnished wood: Cabinetmaking Stripper + No. 2 steel wool.
• Blackened wood: Louis XIII Wood Lightener.
• Exotic wood (red): Louis XIII Red Wood Bleach.
• New wood: Progressive sanding (180 then 220 grit) to open the pores.

Method: Thin coats in the direction of the grain.

1. Continuity: Do not interrupt application in the middle of a surface to avoid lap marks.
2. Ambient conditions: Prefer a cool/moderate temperature to facilitate wax brushing.

Finishing and fixing:

• Patina: Use AVEL Antique Patina or Louis XIII Luxury Wax to perfect the visual appearance.
• Anti-transfer: On wood intended for frequent handling, the application of Louis XIII Shellac Matine prevents wax stains on hands or clothing.

Maintenance and alternatives:

• Standard use: Regular maintenance with wax (paste or liquid).

Intensive use: If the surface is exposed to water splashes or food stains, replace Colorecir with AVEL Anti-Stain Wood Dye.
