Etching

Thanks to its acid and silica base, the highly powerful formulation of LOUIS XIII AVEL STRONG WATER is both cleansing and deoxidizing. Its action is both mechanical and chemical. It is intended for heavily oxidized or very dirty copper and its alloys.

Preparation:

Shake the container vigorously until the whitish deposit has completely disappeared.

Application:

Apply AVEL Louis XIII Eau Forte using an AVEL Louis XIII cotton wool pad.

For bronze, rub with AVEL No. 0000 Steel Wool.

Use a spreading brush for chased parts or hard-to-reach areas.

Action:

Leave the product to act until the oxidation has disappeared.

Rinsing:

Rinse thoroughly with clean water to neutralize the product.

Finishing:

Apply MECANO Metal Polish to enhance the shine.

Protection:

To prevent re-oxidation, protect with AVEL Louis XIII Crystal Varnish (resistant to water, detergents, and sea air, non-yellowing).

The use of gloves is recommended. To protect your objects against any future oxidation due to the action of air and water, and thus avoid repeated cleaning, use AVEL LOUIS XIII CRYSTAL VARNISH (Ref. 3823) (interior-exterior varnish, colorless and transparent).
