Shellac Filler Stick

Louis XIII Shellac Wax Filler allows for the hot repair of small cracks, wormholes, or nail holes on interior furniture that is varnished or intended to be varnished.

Formulated with pigmented natural resins, it offers great hardness, excellent durability over time, and optimal adhesion to all types of varnish.

1.  Position the stick near the hole to be filled. 
2. Melt a small amount of product using a soldering iron or a heated screwdriver blade. 
3. Fill the area with the melted material. 
4. Allow to cool and harden (do not wipe with your finger). 
5. Remove the excess by sanding with Louis XIII Steel Wool No. 0000 (codes 3601 – 3606 – 3607). 

• Choose a shade suited to the final finish ; favor a slightly darker tone than that of the furniture.
• Avoid overheating the shellac during melting.
• Before filling, treat woodworm holes with Louis XIII Xénol (liquid: 3166 – 3169 / aerosol: 3155).
• On raw wood intended to be varnished, slightly heat the area (hairdryer) to improve penetration, then remove the excess with very fine sandpaper.
• On varnished furniture, remove sanding marks and revive the shine with Louis XIII Popote de Venise (code 3500). If necessary, follow up with a Louis XIII Retouching Varnish (code 3542) of a suitable shade.
• On waxed wood or wood intended to be waxed, prefer Louis XIII Wax Filler (code 3215).
• For larger repairs, use Louis XIII LEMAN Wood Filler (codes 3243 – 3245).
• For parquet and floorboards, favor Louis XIII Natural Parquet Repair (code 3234).
